Napa Valley College Theater department is offering an online History of Theater Class. This course covers the development of world theater its origin to the present day with a focus on the evolution of theater spaces, traditions, and productions. Though this course transfers to both CSU and UC schools.
History of Theater will be taught by NVCs award winning theater instructor and department head, Jennifer King. A freelance professional theater director (Prague Shakespeare Company, Capitol Stage, Aurora Theater Company, Shakespeare Napa Valley), King’s production of Hurricane Diane was recently nominated for Best Overall Production by the Bay Area Theater Critics Circle. King says, “The course will be fun and engaging, providing valuable insights of theater’s past, present and future through films of great live productions and interactive activities designed to ignite the imagination.”
