Spring 2022 Musical Theater Event: “Musicals Go To the Movies”
Peforming Arts at Napa Valley College with Festival Napa Valley

Napa Valley College Performing Arts is excited to announce a collaboration between the Department of Music and Festival Napa Valley to present a Spring 2022 musical theater revue starring acclaimed Broadway performer Ryan Silverman and Napa Valley College students. Silverman and Napa Valley College students will perform together works from both movie musicals and musical movies, delighting audiences with favorites from the stage and screen.
This onstage collaboration of the college and the Festival culminates in a week-long residency with both Silverman and noted Broadway choreographer Kim Craven. Silverman and Craven’s residency at Napa Valley College includes daily workshops with students on musical theater performance and rehearsals for the musical revue featuring both ensemble pieces and solos. Students will prepare for the residency and performance over an 8-week rehearsal period with performances taking place for live, in-person audiences on March 25 and 26, 2022 at the Napa Valley College Performing Arts Center. Interested actors (ages 16+) must audition and then, once cast, enroll as students in a corresponding production class through Napa Valley College in order to participate in the workshop and its live public performances. College credit is available for all cast members.
The deadline to submit audition videos is Tuesday, January 25th, 2022 at 11:59pm.
To audition, please record an audition video of yourself which includes you performing:
- A song excerpt, 30 seconds to 1 minute long
Please upload your video recording of the above to a video sharing platform (YouTube, Vimeo) and send video link to MHamilton@napavalley.edu by 11:59 p.m. on Tuesday, January 25th, 2022. Tentative Callbacks scheduled for Thursday, January 27th at 6:00pm.
Those cast in the production must be 16 years or older and must enroll in the corresponding Napa Valley College music course upon admission. Rehearsals will begin on Monday, January 31st. The in-person performance will be held on March 26, 2022 at the Napa Valley College Performing Arts Center.
Documentation of full Covid-19 vaccination status is a requirement for all students enrolling in this class. Students will be required to provide documentation of their vaccination status or to request an exemption to be enrolled in this course.
