This community partnership brings professional Latino theater to the Napa Valley, highlighting stories and voices that resonate throughout our diverse community.

The Dead Show

An immersive experience of stage combat, featuring great fight scenes from stage and screen. A dynamic showcase of stage combat skills developed in our theater arts program. Students demonstrate choreographed fight sequences, weapon work, and physical storytelling techniques in this exciting presentation of theatrical combat artistry. The Studio Theater setting allows audiences to experience the precision, athleticism, and dramatic power of stage combat up close.

Symphony Tierra Fall Concert, Notes from Vienna

Local roots, soaring music. Symphony Tierra brings together an innovative combination of student musicians, community players, and professional artists for an afternoon of orchestral music that celebrates both classical traditions and contemporary voices. This project-based ensemble, founded by Dr. Christina Howell and conducted by Samantha Burgess, creates musical experiences that connect our community while providing mentorship opportunities for emerging musicians alongside seasoned performers. NVC Chorale Fall Concert

The NVC Chorale presents an afternoon of choral music featuring student voices in a program that spans classical repertoire and contemporary choral works. This concert showcases the development and artistry of our vocal music students while celebrating the timeless appeal of ensemble singing. 

Elf the Musical

The heartwarming musical comedy that brings the beloved holiday film to life on stage. Follow Buddy the Elf’s journey from the North Pole to New York City as he spreads Christmas cheer and discovers the true meaning of family. This co-production with Cafeteria Kids Theater combines the talents of NVC students with young community performers in a show that celebrates the magic of the season for audiences of all ages.

Applied Music Recitals Fall

Students in the Applied Music program present solo and chamber works in an intimate recital setting. These performances represent the culmination of a semester of focused study with faculty mentors and showcase the individual artistry and technical development of our music students.

Jazz Ensemble Fall Concert

The NVC Jazz Ensemble brings together student musicians in a celebration of America’s most distinctive musical art form, featuring both classic repertoire and fresh interpretations that highlight individual creativity within ensemble collaboration.

This intimate production brings the classic story of Ebenezer Scrooge’s transformation to life through a collaboration between music and theater students, continuing a holiday tradition that celebrates the spirit of community and the power of second chances.

Emergence Festival: Film

A showcase of student film work developed in our Theater Arts and Film Studies programs. Students present their original film projects in a curated screening that demonstrates the range and creativity of contemporary student filmmakers. This curricular presentation is featured as part of the broader AAPI Film Festival, highlighting the diverse voices and storytelling approaches emerging from our film studies curriculum.

Pride and Prejudice

Jane Austen’s beloved story of Elizabeth Bennet and Mr. Darcy comes to theatrical life in this spirited adaptation. Set against the backdrop of Regency England, this classic tale of love, prejudice, and social convention offers both wit and wisdom while exploring themes that remain remarkably contemporary. The production showcases the depth and range of our theater students in a story that has captivated audiences for generations. Directed by Olivia Cowell.

She Loves Me

The charming musical romance that inspired “You’ve Got Mail.” Set in a 1930s European perfume shop, this intimate musical tells the story of two feuding co-workers who unknowingly fall in love through their anonymous correspondence. With a lush, sophisticated score by Jerry Bock and Sheldon Harnick (Fiddler on the Roof), She Loves Me offers audiences an evening of wit, romance, and beautiful music in a production that highlights both individual artistry and ensemble storytelling.

The semester’s final showcase of individual musical artistry, featuring students from across the Applied Music program. The culminating choral performance of the academic year featuring Brahms’ monumental German Requiem. This extraordinary collaboration brings together NVC Chorale, St. Helena Choral Society, Sing Napa Valley, and Pacific Union College in a unified performance of one of the choral repertoire’s most beloved masterworks. The combined forces create a powerful musical experience that celebrates both individual artistry and the transcendent beauty of community collaboration in service of great music.
